2026 Race Season at MBSC

The 2026 racing season is set to deliver a full lineup of racing, social events, and guest speakers.

🎤 Speaker Events

Wednesday, April 29 – 6:30 PM Scott Shawyer – Canada Ocean Racing
Scott will be presenting on his preparations for the 2028 Vendée Globe onboard his foiling IMOCA 60.

Wednesday, May 6 – 6:30 PM Jeff Brook - What does it take to prepare for an ocean crossing?
Jeff will share what’s involved in getting a boat and crew ready for offshore sailing and his upcoming Atlantic crossing. All are welcome for a social evening at the clubhouse.

🌕 New for 2026: Full Moon Series

This season we’re introducing a Full Moon Night Sailing Series. These events are designed to be accessible & social. Expect unique sailing conditions and a great atmosphere both on and off the water. 8:00pm start.

2026 Full Moon Events:

• May 31 (Sunday) – Blue Moon 
• June 29 (Monday) – Strawberry Moon 
• August 28 (Friday) – Sturgeon Moon

🏁 Georgian Bay Regatta – 40th Anniversary at MBSC

MBSC will host the finish of the Georgian Bay Regatta in it's 40th Anniversary year, July 29 - August 2, 2026

This is a major event on the regional racing calendar and will bring visiting boats & crews from around the Bay.

⛵ Dinghy Racing

Monday Night Dinghy racing continues to build momentum at MBSC. Adding a second Centerboard Regatta last season created more opportunities for participation, and the response was great. Both events will return for 2026.

Monday Night Dinghy Racing Series 1 will be kicking off on May 18 (Victoria Day).

🛠️ Race Committee

Significant progress has been made on the Race Committee boat refurbishment, including:

• New deck installation
• Full electrical upgrade
• Automated solar charging

Next steps include rebuilding the upper structure and upgrading seating. A huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this work.

We’re also planning enhancements to race management with some upgrades for race course setting and management, aimed at improving consistency, accuracy, and efficiency on the water
