MBSC Racing 2022 Season Wrap-up
The 2022 season has seen a return of the full MBSC racing schedule and good turn-out for many races.  In addition to the Monday dinghy and Wednesday keelboat races, where we are approaching past numbers of participants, we are also looking forward to the participation of new racers through the Midland Bay Sailing School, the 'Cruising to Racing' initiative, the Daniells Mentorship award and the youth dinghy 'unregatta'.
MBSC Racing has been actively engaging with other clubs in the hopes of sparking growth and camaraderie within Georgian Bay and Simcoe Region Sailing Community.  This spring was the first 'open' Icebreaker Regatta and despite uncertain weather we enjoyed the participation of the Collingwood Yacht Club which offered us the opportunity to exchange burgees as a sign of joint goodwill.
Jason Ruttan, CYC Commodore and MBSC Commodore Hugh Loughborough exchange burgees.

We are looking forward to increased racing interaction with CYC and other clubs in future seasons to build upon the fun and competition afforded by the Georgian Bay Regatta and multi-club races in Collingwood on the July 1st long weekend and in Wiarton on Labour Day weekend.

The twice-annual 5.5m Regatta is a great example of MBSC being on the map with other clubs.  This past June and August we saw the return of the 'Texans' from the Texas Corinthian Yacht Club (TCYC).  They brought the 'slippery' 5.5 'Firestorm' to Midland and had excellent results.

Look up in the clubhouse to see these new additions to our impressive collection of burgees from around Ontario, Canada and the world!
