I knew Ted for 20 years. We first met at the “Swine Open Golf Tournament”. The “Swine Open” was an annual golf tournament and pot luck organized by some club members held the weekend following the Hog Race. As new members, we were pleased to be invited. Lyn and I were paired up with Ted and Lynda Zuidema. That was when we found out he was a lawyer. He gave us golf balls that read “Ted’s Law”. I quietly asked Lynda if Ted was a lawyer and she answered “Yes and a very good one”. I lost that golf ball on the first hole.
With Covid, I didn’t race this past summer but Ted and I regularly sailed together on Thursdays. With a rum in hand, we would solve the problems of the world and the club. His heart was always in the club.
He will be missed.
