How to Submit Your AFS & Upload Your Insurance Documents

This guide explains how to complete your Application for Service (AFS) and how to upload and manage your insurance documents using the MBSC website.

Before You Start

You must be logged into the MBSC website to complete your AFS and upload insurance.

Go to Member Links → Forms & Applications

Direct Link to Forms & Applications:

⭐ Important: Members with more than One Boat and Dry-Sail Boats

You will need to submit a PDF Application for your Dry-Sail or 2nd Boat

1. Submitting Your AFS (Application for Service)

Step 1 – Log in to the MBSC Website

Step 2 – Open the AFS Form

Go to Member Links → Forms & Applications → Update Application for Service

Step 3 – Confirm Your Member Information

Your name, email, and membership type will appear automatically.

If something looks incorrect, email mbsc1@midlandbaysailingclub.com.

Step 4 – Select Your Required Services

Examples include:

  • Tender Storage

  • Late Haul

  • Mast Up

  • Winter Storage

⭐ Important: 7-Day Editing Window

After you click Submit, your AFS is saved and you have 7 days to make changes.

  • You may reopen the AFS during this time to adjust your selections.

  • After 7 days, your application becomes locked and will be processed by the club.

Resetting the Edit Window

If you reopen the AFS and click Submit again, the system resets the countdown and gives you another 7 days to make edits.

Step 5 – Review Your Calculated Fees

Totals update automatically based on your selections.

Step 6 – Submit Your AFS

Click Submit.

After the 7-day editing window, your account will be processed and you will receive an invoice based on your selections.

2. Uploading Your Insurance Documents

Step 1 – Open the Insurance Upload Page

Go to Member Links → Forms & Applications → Upload Insurance Slip

Step 2 – Verify your email address

Step 3 – Select Your Insurance Start and End Dates

Step 4 – Choose the File to Upload

⭐ Insurance File Requirements (Important)

The system accepts images only such as JPG or PNG

PDFs are not accepted.
If your policy is a PDF, take a screenshot or clear photo and upload the image version.

Ensure the image clearly shows:

  • Your name

  • Boat details

  • Proof of liability coverage

Step 5 – Click Submit

Click Submit and wait for the confirmation message.
Your document will appear in your Insurance Dashboard (Review Insurance Slips).

3. Managing Your Insurance Documents

Please update your insurance documents as you renew the insurance, not necessarily at the time that you are completing your AFS.

Access the Insurance Dashboard via:
Member Links → Forms & Applications → Review Insurance Slips

Here you can:

  • View your current insurance documents

  • Check expiry dates

  • Remove outdated versions

To update an expired or renewed policy:

  1. Click Review Insurance Slips

  2. Delete the old insurance document

  3. Return to Forms & Applications, choose Upload Insurance Slip, and follow the upload steps in Section 2
